Lauren Nickou
Lauren Nickou (*1986 Newburyport, MA, USA) has shown her paintings internationally including recent exhibitions: “Sunflowers,” WasserWasser³, Vienna, Austria, 2022 (solo); “Position,” Kunstraum SUPER, Vienna, Austria, 2021; “Downtown Painting,” curated by Alex Katz, Peter Freeman, Inc., New York, NY, 2019. Public collections include the San Antonio Museum of Art, TX, and Colby College Museum of Art, ME. She received her MFA from Queens College, City University of New York, and her BFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she was the sole recipient of The Robert D. ’48 and Nancy M. ’49 Gordon Scholarship in the Fine Arts in 2009. Alongside her painting, Nickou maintains an avid writing practice and is a regular contributor to Les Nouveaux Riches, a Vienna-based arts and culture publication. She lives in Vienna with her young son, husband, and dog.
